Indie Arcade: Into the Box & Biff 'em Up!

Pick up and Play!

Welcome to another edition of Indie Arcade! In this month's edition I have two games that are easy to pick up and play, you know the kind of game where it can go on forever and you set the score the beat.

I am taking a look at Into the Box, a musical free fall platformer and Biff 'Em Up!, an endless wave brawler. Both are games you can play right in your browser and forever!

Into the Box

Into the Box is what I call a "Free Fall Platformer". The premise of the game is to fall down and fall into the box beneath you(ahead of you), you keep diving from box to box to build up a combo. You have limited control of the direction of your fall and the ability to boost slightly faster.
What I love about this game is the music, and when you are in the zone racking up a huge combo it all comes together so perfectly well. The Kaya brothers have a background and music (and music games) and it comes together in this game so perfectly. I played this game over and over trying to get a combo higher than one hundred. Something about boosting through an abstract void to blaring techno music is just awesome. You need to see the game in motion to get a feel for it, images do not do this game justice.

Biff 'Em Up!

Biff'em Up! is a game where you fight endless waves of enemies. The only thing you can do is move and punch.  You have 10 hit points and the orange enemies take about 3 hits to be Knocked out.
Just like Into the Box BEU! is a very easy game to pick up and play. I really enjoyed "biffing" the evil orange characters to some sweet techno music. My high was just around 50 biffs before I got biffed. Think you can beat that?
